Our Story
est 2016
The History
The Wymer family bought the derelict Caithness Pottery building in 2015 & with the help of wonderful local tradespeople & countless hours of renovation, Stacks opened exactly a year later. We built it using reclaimed materials, upcycled products & a big dollop of passion. Oh...& some hot chocolate to get us through the winter months!

So who runs the joint? Mother & Daughter team, Teresa & Rebecca...

Teresa ran a 5-star bed & breakfast for 10 years & before that was a professional cake decorator, all whilst home educating both her kids. She runs the front of house team & is easy to spot in her flamboyant trousers!

Rebecca left school & worked as a pastry chef throughout
Scotland for 6 years, now running Stacks' happy & creative kitchen.
They are both passionate about nutrition, good quality
ingredients & the health of the next generation.

Fresh is best!

Our Ethos
We put the health & wellbeing of all our team first & always will: you can’t make happy food with sad & hungry staff!
As a family business our opening hours & serving times are all proudly designed with the health & work/life balance of the team in mind.

Stacks encourages youngsters to enjoy working in hospitality, seeing it as a skilled career, not a stop-gap low level job. Our team, including management, all muck in together & share jobs equally.
All our food is made fresh, to order and in-house with lots of creative licence! Comfort food takes time, but it's worth the wait! Menus are seasonal to keep the very best on the plate all year round.

Food waste is a major problem in Scotland & we are proud of
our less than 5% rate, reducing our impact on the big rock we call home.
Stacks was created to offer a warm space for everything from business meetings, a celebration dinner or just a cup of coffee with your four-legged friend!
